The first Turkish diplomatic mission to Saudi Arabia, was established in 1926 in Jeddah, which was also accredited to the Republic of Yemen and Sultanate of Oman. Initially serving under the name of “Political Representation”, the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey moved to the new capital, Riyadh, in 1985 along with the other diplomatic missions.

The Turkish Embassy has been serving at its current chancellery in Riyadh since 1990, with about 35 personnel. The Embassy also contains the the Office of the Military Attaché, the Office of the Education Counsellor and the Office of the Labour Counsellor.

The consular services throughout Saudi Arabia are being covered by the Embassy and the Turkish Consulate General in Jeddah. In this context, the georaphical regions that fall under the responsibility of our Embassy are Riyadh Region, Al-Jawf, Hail, Al-Kassim, the Northern Region (Arar), the Eastern Province and Najran.
